The code of ethics of Civilizar de Empresa y Economía abides by the following s:
The Journal does not accept behaviors such as plagiarism and will verify the level of originality of each manuscript, through the use of specialized software.
In the event of alleged plagiarism, the Editorial Committee has set up a series of steps in order to prove or disprove said assumption. First, thanks to the experience and knowledge of its editors, in matters of intellectual property, the initial phase of any assumption will be under their responsibility; which consist of assessing the case.
After making said assessment and assuming that it is a case of plagiarism; the second step consists of determining the treatment to be given. This is due to the possible extent of the situation and the degree of seriousness of its implications. The third step is to notify the author of a plagiarism alert, in parallel with appropriate tests, if required, in which a dialogue is opened to set out the situation and allow the author to state his/her position. All related feedback will be made through the OJS or directly to the contact email.
In the fourth step, the statement made by the author will be assessed, and a course of action determined (e.g. removes the fragment, quotes properly, among others). If the author fails to address the request, the editor, will file a letter reporting the plagiarism committed and the sanctions that could apply to the author, signed by the Editorial Committee of the magazine, through the OJS or via email.
Any article that promotes any type of social, ethnic, racial, sexual, political or religious discrimination or offends the reputation of persons living or dead will not be published.
The Journal is not liable for the opinions of the authors or readers or any violation they may commit to domestic or international law and in particular, to copyright.
In addition to the above, the author grants a user license to the Sergio Arboleda University on the economic rights of author regarding the manuscript submitted for review and possible publication. Therefore, the Sergio Arboleda University will have the reproduction, public communication, public distribution, translation, adaptation, correction rights or other transformations considered relevant for the manuscript submitted.
In the event of a conflict of interest, impartiality is guaranteed among the editors, authors, reviewers, committee members, etc., during the decision process; this, in turn, strengthens the commitment that the magazine is based on transparency and integrity principles. In following with this basis, the publication also guarantees the publication of interesting topics or relevant aspects that can be useful for authors, as well as the names of the members of the Scientific Committee and the Editorial Committee, the Director and the Editors of the Journal.

In order to comply with international standards, effective October 1, 2016, Civilizar de Empresa y Economía enables authors interested in publishing their works to submit their manuscripts through the Open Journal Systems (OJS). Similarly, evaluators conducting assessments are requested to carry out their assessment through said system.
The peer review method carried out by the Journale begins with the verification of the manuscript submitted by the author through the OJS, the manuscript if accepted by the Editorial Committee will be checked by an anti-plagiarism program. If no observations are found, it will be reviewed by two anonymous peers, who must fill out an evaluation form within a maximum period of three months. Following the parameters of the Elsevier Editorial, Civilizar de Empresa y Economía continues the review using the method known as double blind review, according to which both the reviewer and the author remain anonymous, in order to prevent any kind of bias that may affect the impartiality of the review. In addition, this type of review ensures that despite the prestige of an author, the assessment will be based on the quality of their writing and not on his/her reputation.
In the event that the peer review disagrees, the manuscript will be subjected to review by a third blind peer. In either case, the Editorial Committee will always keep the author (s) informed. The Editorial Committee will decide, according to the assessments, if the manuscript is to be published, returned to the author for corrections or definitively rejected. Within the following eight days of receiving the assessment, the Editorial Committee will inform the author of the procedure that he/she must follow. In the event that the document is accepted, subject to corrections by the author, he/she will have a maximum of two weeks to send the corrected manuscript. Once the new version is received, the Editorial Committee will have one week to verify compliance of the recommendations to finally decide on its publication. In this event, it shall be sent to the publisher, who shall be entitled to introduce formal modifications in terms of design, spelling and style required, to align the text to publication standards. To ensure our Journal updates the knowledge published, as the articles are approved, and diagrammed, they will be published in the Journal’s OJS. However, only when all articles are ready for publication the issue will be printed.
