LA SERGIO SIGNS AN AGREEMENT WITH AN INTERNATIONAL NGO TO PROMOTE THE DEVELOPMENT OF ITS STUDENT COMMUNITY

Thanks to the initiative of the School of Philosophy and Humanities of La Sergio and the support of the International Relations Office – ORI, the Sergio Arboleda University signed an agreement with the World Youth Alliance (WYA) Latin America, with which the Sergistas have now the possibility to being accredited and applying for regional and international internships.

The School of Philosophy and Humanities, through the International Relations Office – ORI, establishes the agreement with the World Youth Alliance (WYA) Latin America, with the idea of contributing to the development of young Sergistas in the areas of education, culture and promotion.

With the signing of this agreement, the first call for applications for the Certified Training Program (CTP) begins, allowing students from different academic programs to be part of the international community, become accredited and participate in activities related to advocacy, social media marketing, design and project management, as well as having the opportunity to apply for regional and international internships.

The WYA is an institution founded in the United Nations, in 1999, that works with various organizations, such as the European Union and the Organization of American States to promote the human dignity, throughout the union and global training of young people who articulate, defend and instill in their communities the development of dignity of people, in addition to generating creative solutions to the problems of today’s world.

“Thanks to this new alliance, Sergio students will have the opportunity to strengthen their knowledge and acquire new skills to function in a national and international context, contributing to the social, economic and cultural development of Colombia”, said Laura Santana, coordinator of the ORI.

After the agreement, the horizon of opportunities for Sergistas is broadened, with a focus on which they can have successful personal and professional development. This was done by Federico Mosquera, a student of Economy at the University, who did his professional internship at a prestigious German bank.

“Working with a German bank has heavily contributed on my vocational training, particularly because of the cultural differences… The lecture here (and surely in every foreign company), is that one must be versatile and autodidact because the more you can contribute the better your performance will be”, said Federico, who also highlighted the support he had from La Sergio, the values that were instilled in him and the new opportunities that the University manages. Everything, to deliver to the world students prepared and with an international background that ensures a promising future.

This new alliance will allow students to see the world from a different perspective, in addition to providing them with tools that will contribute to their professional and personal development.
