Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México-UNAM | Calendarios académicos universidades internacionales en convenio con La Sergio

The Sergio Arboleda´s community can live the experience of studying abroad at least in fourty international universities which there is an agreement with our university. Therefore, we highlight below the academic calendars (application deadlines, admission, vacations, and exams) on the differents countries. Take note!

AMERICA

In countries such as Argentina, Peru, Brazil, Paraguay, and Chile, where summer is at the end of each year and lasts until the first quarter of the following year, the academic period runs from the beginning of March to mid-June. Final exams are scheduled in the last days of June, with a fifteen-day break for winter vacation. Classes begin again at the end of July and continue until mid-November, ending with exams in December.

It is necessary to apply between October and November -for the first semester that begins in March- and no later than April and May -for the second semester that begins in July- to apply for exchange programs at Centro Universitario Jorge Amado-UNIJORGE, in Brazil, or at Universidad de Belgrano, Universidad de Ciencias Empresariales y Sociales-UCES and Universidad del Congreso, in Argentina, or to apply for admission to Chilean universities, such as Universidad del Desarrollo, Universidad Santo Tomás, Universidad Católica del Norte and UNIACC.

In the United States, Mexico, Ecuador and Bolivia, classes begin in January and February and end in early June, with exams. The second semester begins in August and ends in November, with exams during the month of December. This academic calendar is similar to the Colombian system; however, some U.S. universities do not have fixed convocations to start in January, but only to start the year in August, depending on the type of program.

By considering the above, it is important to know that applying for admission to exchange programs at universities such as American University, in the United States, UUniversidad Nacional Autónoma de México-UNAM or href=”https://www.udem.edu.mx/es” rel=”noopener” target=”_blank”>Universidad de Monterrey, Universidad Tecnológica Privada de Santa Cruz-UTEPSAin Bolivia, Universidad Internacional del Ecuador-UIDE or la Universidad Casa Grande, in Ecuador, is a process that must begin between September and October to begin studies in February, and between May and June to begin studies in August.

EUROPE

In countries such as Spain, Italy, France, Portugal and Sweden, classes generally begin in September and October, after the summer vacation, which covers the period from July to August. In addition, the academic year lasts until June of the following year. Some academic programs are carried out during the year, and not by semesters, so it is necessary to validate for each call whether the universities receive international students in both semesters or only in the fall semester.

Students must apply between April and May to apply for a place or admission in European universities, such as <a href=", la Universidad Complutense de Madrid, <a href=", la Universidad Francisco de Vitoria, KTH Royal Institute of Technology, John Cabot University, Universitá degli Studi di Roma Tré, among others. In addition, students must apply in November to begin classes in September (the first semester or fall semester) and in January and February (the second semester or winter semester).

OCEANIA

In countries such as Australia, academic calendars are composed of three sessions or quarters, as opposed to Latin American countries, whose calendars are often two-semester periods. These academic sessions correspond to periods from March to June, July to October and November to February, with study days, exams and breaks in each quarter.

There are no exact application calendars for international students to universities such as Griffith University and Queensland University of Technology-QUT, as these institutions receive applications throughout the academic year. However, it is necessary to inform the exact term in which the student expects to start studies when submitting the application.

It is important to keep in mind that this is a general guide in terms of time for you to prepare. Therefore, it is necessary to validate the calendar of each university of your interest, as well as admission procedures and if any nomination or application is required by the Universidad Sergio Arboleda, through the International Relations Office – ORI.

Many options are available to fulfill your dream of studying abroad. At the IRO we support and guide you to make this process a success.
