Next January 2,the French Embassy in Colombia opens its call for 300 young people to apply for a work and travel visa that will allow them to know this country while they learn or improve their French.

It should be remembered that on December 1, 2015 was signed the intergovernmental agreement through which has been established the “Work and Travel” program between Colombia and France.

This alliance allows young Colombians to spend a holiday season in France with the possibility of working during the validity period of the granted visa. The search for this work only depends on the person who wishes to apply for this visa.

To apply it is not necessary to have a job offer before traveling, nor is prior knowledge of the language required.

Applicants must have to comply these requirements: not having previously benefited from this program, have the necessary financial resources (2.500 euros approximately), present a medical certificate that guarantees good health, have no legal background and have a medical insurance that covers all the risks related to illness, disability, hospitalization and repatriation.

The beneficiaries can take courses to learn or improve the language, but they will not be allowed to pursue higher education programs, since this requires another type of permit.

The visa has no cost but no requests will be received which more than three months before the trip; nor is there the possibility of extending a visa or requesting it a second time.
